This is astonishingly disingenuous! Does Senator Cassidy recognize the arrogance, the insolence, the sheer contempt this reveals?

All science always turns out to be the foundation upon which better science is built. Science makes progress by always asking questions, and revising based on new evidence. Pseudoscience begins with an answer, interprets evidence to conform, and never contributes to knowledge.

When you see alarming health headlines, always ask:
– Has the study been peer-reviewed?
– Was it observational or experimental?
– How big was the actual risk difference?

His proposed alternative is, of course, to trust people like him who have absolutely no expertise and haven't a clue what they're talking about. "Do your own research" means finding someone to tell you what you want to hear. That's not a feature of science. It's not a feature of democracy.

Vulnerability is not weakness. It is authenticity, it is human, it is an element of character. Thank you for sharing this.
