When you play a game of chicken you are betting that that other person doesn't want to be hurt, but in this instance the other side doesn't care. They have shown that they will burn the country down. Where's their incentive to end any shutdown? Do we starve children until the 120th Congress?

With all respect, you're right and wrong. MAGA is an existential threat, but it's easy to tell Dems to play chicken when your children aren't the ones that are crying with hunger. Do you think Trump would be deterred by even a preventable tragedy? MAGA doesn't care! Sadly it's asymmetric warfare.

I thought about it when I heard that they might open a government owned grocery store less than 10 miles from my home, but I decided to tough it out. Just in case, I'm building some squirrel traps to keep my family fed.
