The bird in the image is a Great Blue Heron (Ardea herodias). It’s a large wading bird commonly found near shores, rivers, lakes, and wetlands throughout much of North America. Some key identifying features visible in the image: • Long, slender neck in an S-curve. • Sharp, pointed bill. • Grayish-blue plumage with a black stripe over the eye. • Long legs adapted for wading in shallow water.
