A rare bird on the Alnmouth patch is the Whinchat, thanks to Ian Fisher for the shout. Here is a poor, but i think atmospheric, record shot.

The bird I wanted to see most on our recent trip to Malaysia was this, the Rail Babbler. This bird lives deep in the rain forest, easily heard but hard to see. Even though it was very tricky lighting, I feel I was very lucky to have got a picture of it, one out of a series 25!

#SuperSeabirdSunday If I had a favourite bird the Razorbill could be a contender, but I don’t. Soon to be seen on a cliff on the magnificent Northumberland coast, and plenty offshore presently! @steelyseabirder.bsky.social #nebirding #birdsoftheworld

Utterly impressed at seeing (just) White-tailed Ptarmigan on the slopes of Colorado. These Ptarmigan are famous for being virtually invisible when you can’t see them! 😀😀

Magnificent restoration of Carliol House in Newcastle. I first went there for an interview, in 1967, with the Gas Board, as was!! Fortunately, I didn’t get the job, otherwise life would have been so, so different.
