You don’t *solve* socio-economic outcome gaps by massaging examination conditions, you *disguise* them, and then everyone can tell themselves ‘aren’t we good people?’ while failing to change the lives of the people they claim they care about.

These are the schools with the top 20 P8 scores- creating incredible environments for children. Thank god for what they do.

I mean, this is fine but it tells you far more about the socio-economics of the families, than the quality of the school. P8 tells you much more about the school’s quality

A great piece here in @schoolsweek.bsky.social from Pan Panayiotou describing the reality of what being a Behaviour Hubs lead school meant for him and the partner schools

A wonderful day so far at the Behaviour Hubs conference. A room full of experts. I opened with a speech on our collective positive impact, and why it is vital to promoting safety and inclusion for all.

And here is just some of the comments we get from partner schools, all of whom have worked tirelessly to make schools safer, calmer, more dignified spaces for all children to grow, learn and flourish.
Looking forward to the full report when it is published.

Glasgow schools burning tax dollars because iPads.
Staggering how easy it is to spend multiple millions of pounds on useless edu-tech when it’s not your money. But everyone loves a magic bullet even if there’s no evidence it has much impact other than ‘we ticked a box for what we hope is equity’.
