Left civil war in Northern Ireland in the early 80's. Now find myself in a brewing civil war where there'll only be losers. Unless this latest iteration of tin-pot dictator can be beaten back.
(NYT) Trump announced he's (illegally) imposing new tariffs on a bloc of European nations until they come to the negotiating table to sell Greenland. Impeach this mother fucker asap! Congress (looking at you Dems) should block everything. This is a naked abuse of power. It's an existential emergency

I imagine a fresh new world where Trump, Noem, Patel, Miller, Homan, Kennedy, Gabbert, Blanche, Bondi et al are gone. Let mother nature take its remorseless course. Dust to dust, ashes to ashes.

NY Times: a man whose daughter had given millions to a Trump-backed super PAC, a former F.B.I. agent who pleaded guilty in a political corruption case and a California woman whom the president pardoned once before in 2017 but was again convicted of fraud in 2024.

Republicans can shut the hell up!

(NYT) The battle over credit card rates heats up: rather than a one size fits all approach to credit card interest rates perhaps this is where AI could be employed by lenders to assign rates based on individual user history and risk. It can be done so why not roll out a trial?

Trump claimed that he had no advance knowledge of the Justice Department’s case against Jay Powell - Trump is a lying scumbag putrid pestilence on this earth. He's a mouldering heap of parrot droppings. His sort makes me puke.

Wondering what percentage of self-professed anti government militias have taken the king's coin and joined Noem's Band of Muggers. Perhaps if the FBI stopped chasing Antifa phantoms we might have the answer.

Proud Boys, 3%ers, Oath Keepers, Boogaloo Bois all playing their part for the "deep state"

María Corina Machado offers her Nobel prize to Trump as a "token of gratitude". The orange dictator says it would be a "great honor" to accept the award. And we're supposed to accept his "own morality" as the only limit on his power. If he weren't such an existential threat we might even laugh.

Minnesota bears witness to Trump sponsored murder. Who do citizens turn to for protection and justice? Not the corrupt fascist authoritarian Trump regime. Not the Supreme Court justices. Evidently not congress. And not a mewling Democratic Party leadership, stuttering and stammering into irrelevance

Message for Peacock TV Sports: stop the commentators blabbing the live results of multiple soccer games. It spoils it for fans wanting to watch match replays later.

(Forbes) Rubio Says Trump Still Hopes To Purchase Greenland: Which century do Rubio and Trump imagine, in their wet slave master fever dreams, they live in? Proposing to "buy" the indigenous Inuit population. Should the promise of gold fail to 'persuade' then out comes the whip.

After 250 years, turns out it was the Heritage Foundation aided and abetted by Project 2025 authors and the Uber-rich, who finally figured out how to render the U.S. constitution null and void. Watch these same seditionists drape themselves in Stars and Stripes in 2026.

Trump's talk of "our hemisphere" is emblematic of a U.S. in retreat. Becoming smaller, meaner and more dangerous. A snot nosed neighborhood bully feigning swagger to obscure insecurity and weakness. The bone spurred, somnambulant, creaking, slurring, pedophile deserves to be vilified but not pitied.

When the key architect for creating and enforcing the post-WW2 international rules based order turns bad cop, it's over. When that bad cop threatens to invade a NATO member, it's over. When congress surrenders to a dictator, it's over. When Europe ponders supplicant status to the bad cop, ....?

Maduro should have followed the Irish Republican Army's lead and refused to recognize the legitimacy of the court.

today NPR ran a story about Trump increasing tariffs on Italian pasta misleadingly claiming Italian pasta manufacturers will pay the tariffs.

Do better NPR!

let's see if Venezuelan refugees in Florida are still excited about Trump's kidnapping of Maduro when Miller and ICE round them up and deport them.

was Trump's decision to punish green energy (and EV's) tied to the decision to invade Venezuela? Coincidence? The US transportation sector consumes between 70% to over 90% of total petroleum consumption. Who profits off the invasion? Fossil fuel industries. What did they know? When did they know it?

Under Trump and the Republicans generosity to the Uber-rich and huge corporations we're forced to amend Ben Franklin's aphorism "In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes" to "except death and TACO"

make 2026 the year of the Democratic Party establishment dinosaur apocalypse - we need leadership advocating for the needs and ethics of a new generation of voters. Schumer and Jeffries are relics of 20th century politics.
