Any of those public figures who say the words "Western civilization" all the time now should be immediately disregarded and also has a type of porn on their laptop that cannot be legally described in any known human language.

In Putin-era Russia, state encroachment in the media eventually led to a culture of self-censorship, in which outright bans or other repressive measures were relatively rare. Is the U.S. headed down a similar path?

In any other country, if federal agents fired upon journalists when unprovoked — what would we call it?

If federal agents marched down streets demanding papers — what would we say?

Authoritarianism — let’s not pretend it’s something else when it happens in our American cities.

Hosting global events while our leadership flouts basic decency and accountability makes the U.S. look like a bad role model on the world stage. Relocating the games would send a clear message: the world won’t celebrate or reward countries that compromise justice and integrity.

It certainly appears the United States murdered an innocent fisherman who was a husband and father to four children, claimed he was a "narco-terrorist," posted a video of the execution, and then made jokes about it

Amazing migration night but my backyard park was really quiet this morning (they didn't like late-night Metallica?). My FOMO seeing reports from Magee today was excruciating.

But, then! Warblers appeared in the park; I ended up with more species here in urban Columbus than Magee yesterday!!

Clarence Thomas likens old rulings that protect our rights to trains driven by monkeys.
You are a blight on the legal profession, Clarence. Precedents obviously can be overturned, or Plessy v Ferguson would still be followed. But you know, or should know, that stare decisis enables a degree of stability in the law, vs changes w/ each administration.

Honestly, when it's all in one place, that looks very worrying.
Please let me know if I've missed any incursions.

🚨 IMPORTANT THREAD 🚨

People are protesting the Broadview ICE facility tonight. This will likely be an extremely high-risk action. I caution you to consider your risk level before attending. I will not attend.

Attendance risks your safety, but also the safety of Broadview residents + detainees. 1/6

Nobody cares about the victims in the Dallas ICE shooting apparently. The first I've heard about one of them was on CNN today. He's fighting for his life in the hospital --- he was brought to the US when he was 13. He's 33 now. No criminal record.

I just don't know what to say anymore.
