What a great first day of the AHE Conference in London! Highlights included the presentations by Michael Roberts and Ho-fung Hung on China's unequal development, the hegemony of the dollar, and the limitations of RMB internationalisation.
It is very interesting to see how Bresser-Pereira views on development have changed over his trajectory. Never thought that he would say that "nationalism in the periphery needs to be anti-imperialist". There is no room to change without understanding the role of imperialism.

Next week we will be debating German investments in sustainable value chains, specifically on renewable energy and opportunities to Brazil. This is a collaborative research between TU Berlin (Germany) and UFABC (Brazil), funded by DAAD/CAPES.
