I tried going from character action to soulslikes but honestly the latter just couldn’t really keep me. Unfortunately not enough character action games exist out there, but I do kinda see ‘lite’ versions of that genre, mostly in Square Enix smaller jrpg titles.

I mean I get the appeal, but not all DLC are bad. Fromsoft and Monolith Soft are the first two that come to mind where DLC was very much worth it. And patches,updates are great for fighting games that need to adjust balances, add new characters etc

Personally I can’t remember the last time a review impacted my decision to play a game, but that’s usually because I don’t buy a lot of games day 1, instead I just wait for a sale to try it out myself. And the few games I do play day 1 are from devs I’m already familiar with,like Metaphor from Atlus
