I called it at 530 am - Trump backed down. The blowback was universal and fierce. As with most things, he doesn't know what he is doing and when he agreed to talk with them this morning it was a sign he was looking for an off ramp. He's an empty suit. But one with so much power he's dangerous.

When I was a Hill staffer in 2009, a Dem trifecta was trying to pass universal healthcare. In response, Senate GOP released a memo detailing all of the tactics they in the minority could use to delay the effort as much as possible. I'm recirculating that 2009 GOP memo here.
