Look, I enjoyed #ZeroDay. De Niro was on good form, the conspiracy and how it unfolded felt solid if not particularly showy or surprising. But the most egregious aspect was the implication that the US has any remotely competent politicians left (he says tongue firmly in cheek).

Actually, I do have one fault with #AThousandBlows, which is - like with Andrew Koji in #BlackDoves - it's a crime to cast Jason Tobin (another #Warrior alum) and not have him do some awesome kung fu.

Was a bit apprehensive about #AThousandBlows as S5+6 of #PeakyBlinders weren't my favourite - but it's really good, I can't fault it. Still one episode to go - praying for Treacle - but I love the confidence and polish with which this was pulled off.

Have one more ep to go of #OutThere and I'm really impressed. I can see how it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea as it's not showy or flashy, but it feels authentic. The plotting is tight and the characters feel believable. Hope it ends well!

Initially thought #Paradise was just an intriguing premise competently put together. But by Ep 5, I'm really quite enjoying it & not just cos it stars Sterling K Brown. Not sure it will ever be deep enough to be a true classic of the genre but it's ambitious, twisty & *episodic*.

Fantastic evening at Bafta tonight, listening to Jack Rooke talk #BigBoys S3 - a show that deftly combines comedy and drama, delivering non-stop gags and emotional catharsis. The final two episodes were devastatingly beautiful and I can't wait for what Jack does next.

I found ep1 of #OutThere to be eminently watchable. The premise feels closer to something from a US series but the plot unfolds with such self assurance & an unhurried pace that it doesn't feel too heightened. Anchored by Martin Clunes' stolid performance, it warrants a watch.

I loved #Yellowjackets S1 & there were plenty of moments that were genuinely creepy and macabre (RIP Biscuit). Combined with a stellar cast it was must-watch. S2 dialled up the camp but the narrative felt utterly directionless. I hope S3 can get back to what the show does best.

Also, as a local, I really enjoyed how crucial Ilford was to the denouement of #Unforgotten... Our little corner of North East London never gets a shout out (despite my attempts to always crowbar it into scripts)!
For a show like #Unforgotten to remain as nuanced & accomplished as it is, after six whole series with no signs of slowing down, is an incredible achievement that deserves more recognition. S6 maintains that quality by asking thought provoking questions & not giving easy answers.

That being said, I really enjoyed the "that's what they taught us" line. Elicited a genuine bit of sympathy for old Maggie there #BrianAndMaggie

Tho being v well made with solid performances, #BrianAndMaggie is a bit of an odd fish. I'm not quite sure what it's aiming to achieve. It lacks bite, doesn't offer much wider political context & doesn't quite convince that the interview was as consequential as it insists it was.

#HighPotential is one of those procedurals that the US regularly puts together with such verve and confidence. Its fun pilot is often on the nose, but leaves you with no doubt as to its characters, premise and stakes. Doesn't plough any new ground but does what it does well.

I've always felt, regardless of race, whoever plays #JamesBond needs to be able to give posh and arrogant. A younger Chiwetel Ejifor was always my pick, but his scene-stealing performance in the entertaining #TheRoadTrip -and #IndustryHBO- puts David Jonsson out in front for me.

That was really good 🐇 #InsideNo9
Very pleased with these seats for #InsideNo9 Stage/Fright. Also, found the hare...

Ep 1 of #PrimeTarget was solid. Felt a bit like a Dan Brown novel- it takes the concept of prime numbers very seriously and imbues them with a sense of conspiracy. Quite a mannered performance from Leo Woodall, but his passion for numbers felt more angsty than pleasurable.

Well Jude Law is complex & excellent in #SkeletonCrew. My naive optimism hopes he'll come good in the end, but this is also the first time I've felt too old for #StarWars. It's a fun romp tho & I'm envious of kids who discover SW through it. Also Kelly Macdonald chewing scenery 👌

Two episodes into #TheMadness and I'm struggling so far. The behaviour of the characters, and the way the plot develops, feels inauthentic. Scenes unfold oddly, seeming to go out of their way to avoid clarity. Will stick with it as Coleman Domingo is pretty compelling.

Rewatching #Unforgotten recently and S2 is really an astonishing bit of tele. Not one of the cast puts a foot wrong -especially Nicola Walker- the mystery is complex and devastating, and Mark Bonnar's incredible understatement in his closing monologue has always stayed with me.

Wasn't expecting my favourite #TopBoy moments to come right towards the end, with the surprisingly sweet connection between Stefan and Erin. I think it was the ep written by Elliot Warren that nailed the authenticity of a budding teen relationship. Glad it turned out the way it did.

Recently finished #TopBoy for the first time. It was fine. Admired the callous ruthlessness with which decisions were made but neither Dushane nor Sully were anywhere as near as clever as the show told us they were. Had a lot of time for Jaq but the plotting of S5 was jarring.

Thought #SquidGame 2 was pretty decent overall. The shape of the boat strand needed to be on firmer ground, as it were, & I didn't mind that we didn't rush back into the games as we got some fantastic scenes with the Recruiter. But very impressive to make the familiar feel fresh.

Enjoyed the vibe and tone of #Ludwig but felt it could have done with more serial story- I'd've liked more twists & turns in the search for his bro. The episodic stories were quite fun, but it's the pleasure of David Mitchell's characterisation of Ludwig that wins the day.

Grateful for #WallaceAndGromit which, for me, was a highlight in an otherwise lacklustre Christmas TV schedule where lots of Xmas staples were feeling creaky & tired. Loved the sharpness of the AI satire in W&G, the sheer abundance of gags, and the action nods to the M:I series.
