Deffo good idea to have a charge on house post death option. (I still think most people would move out to avoid burning through their bequest .. but desks with real hard luck cases who can’t practically move)

More fundamentally, by not revaluing the government is making a random number the tax base

Incidentally the original valuations were done for 5p each at speed with a v quiet rule that, since some would be wrong, appeals to move down a band would be given without many Qs

So bit made up even in 93!

Not for one minute suggesting farmhouses should be exempt

But if you’re taking on farmers again (& a lot of non-London Band G & H probably are farms) then you really need a good argument & to avoid alienating others more than absolutely necessary
