I (American) took my kid to the Museum of the City of Tokyo when she was 8. Watching a video of the B-29s dropping bombs in March 1945, she said, “Those are the bad guys, right?” I had to tell her, “Actually, honey, that’s us.” She was shocked that we had once been at war with Japan.
