I don’t claim to know much about it, as I have never been there longer than a 2 hour layover once, but since America and Americans love to insert themselves everywhere even where they don’t belong, it’s hard to ignore them and their very loud and concerning problems.

I won’t argue with that, as I know it to be true. I however struggle to understand what kind of threat are facing those who go out of their way to report undocumented people? I would gladly become a criminal if withholding information about undocumented people was a crime.

As a non-American, I can hardly believe this is the reality in a supposedly civilised, first world country. Has humanity in people always been a mirage?

I’d also like to add that if you happen to know someone’s precarious immigration status, it means that they trust you with that information. No decent human being wants to break that kind of trust.
