Do you really expect everyone to have updated legal documents? Or have readily available access to them? There need to be less hoops to jump through in order to vote

How is requiring passports not a poll tax? It costs more than $100 to get it and can take half a year (especially with more budget cuts!). And if birth certificates are ok, then what about access to them? What about married women who have changed their names?

I’m so confused though, does it require that people need passports/real ID in order to vote? I thought my regular ID and SSN was enough
