The City wants your feedback on stronger tree protection bylaws!

Tell the City that you support steeper fines for illegal tree removals and bylaws to protect more trees.

You can show up to an open house in person or take a survey online here: https://loom.ly/VIJcqig 🌳

With allies we're getting the message to the ON government:
Heat is deadly and growing worse because of #climatechange

We have solutions to protect the health of seniors, children, workers, tenants, unhoused people & others at an increased risk loom.ly/KGSSO-o

Summer should be a time to enjoy being outside, not feel anxiety & isolation under smoky skies.

It's ok to feel like this isn't normal. These #wildfires are fueled by tinder dry forests from a warming planet. To fight them, we must stop burning climate-heating fossil fuels.

But you're not alone!

You spoke up demanding bus and streetcar lanes on Bathurst and Dufferin, and yesterday, Council heard you!
There's more work ahead, but this is an important step forward in moving more people faster and accelerating climate action. https://loom.ly/ame8Tu4

If you are one of the 75,000 people who take the TTC on Dufferin & Bathurst every day, you know this view: stuck in traffic.

We urge Council to support these vital transit lanes today including plans from @MayorOliviaChow & @BravoDavenport to get moving on lanes north of Bloor.

Did you know that more people take the bus on Dufferin than any other method of transportation? Speak up today to get Council to vote for special bus lanes and get more people moving!

Mayor Chow's Executive Committee just approved the first steps in the #RapidTO surface transit network. Now we need to make sure that City Council passes the dedicated lanes on Bathurst & Dufferin.

Everyone deserves reliable transit!

Toronto needs more dedicated transit lanes to move more people. Toronto Region Board of Trade just endorsed both Bathurst & Dufferin #RapidTO lanes up to Eglinton.

Their message?

These lanes are good for business because they are proven to reduce congestion. We need these lanes! #topoli

“These transit lanes are a win-win," says @HowSenChong from TEA. "They will move more people quickly to where they need to go, and help Toronto cut pollution and make important progress towards its climate goals." #topoli

TEA is here with our friends @ttcriders.bsky.social‬ calling for the City to implement bus & streetcar priority lanes on Dufferin & Bathurst all the way to Eglinton as designed! Here's why:
- Good for our climate
- Life-changing for riders packed into slow buses & streetcars on these busy routes!

Join us online tomorrow from 12-1PM to discuss why the incineration industry’s GHG math doesn’t add up: https://loom.ly/mB3jrZ4

New report: Ontario’s grid emits 30–67 g CO₂e/kWh. ON's newest incinerator emits 778 g CO₂e/kWh.

'Green' energy? The numbers say otherwise.

We're happy to see the City's heat relief strategy getting a rethink, & hopefully stronger measures to protect Torontonians from heatwaves like this one. Protecting peoples means planning for a much hotter future. #topoli

Premier Ford is fast-tracking another gift for developers: Bill 17. He's pushing it through so fast it won't even go to committee to be discussed.

Time is running out.

We've broken down what this means for Ontario and how we can stop it: torontoenvironment.org/premier_ford... #ONpoli

The City is asking our input on managing our garbage but it's also looking at false solutions, like burning garbage, also called ‘energy from waste’.
This will send Toronto backwards on climate action, zero waste goals, and put human health at risk:

There's a disturbing trend in #Ontario: developers are trying to gut green building standards so they can make more profit and leave homeowners and tenants on the hook with higher energy bills.

Please tell you MPP this is not okay, speak up for Ontario: www.torontoenvironment.org/climate-safe...
