We are so often confounded by how people in the Trump cult fail to see all of the lies. This might be because lies are simply whatever Trump says are lies, and if he says it is is automatically the truth.

Hatred is deemed as not only necessary, but virtuous. It is a high calling in authoritarianism. Trump barely mentions the good, but is fixated on the what he says is bad.

There has been talk, in Christian Nationalist circles, about love having an order - as in you owe your love first to those who are like you, and only after that to others. This is, of course, decidedly un-Christlike. Hate masquerading as love is still hate.
