Their journey began nearly a month ago and is expected to end in February with an event in Washington, DC.: the 2,300-mile Walk for Peace of 19 Buddhist monks. They have shared that each step in their walk symbolizes “mindfulness, compassion, and the aspiration to bring harmony into the world.”

The Peace Walk began in Fort Worth, Texas, and will end in Washington, D.C. Along the way, the monks are meeting with and being cared for by local communities.

Yesterday was officially Steel Pulse Day in Miami Beach. The reggae band, now on their 50th anniversary tour, was presented with a proclamation issued by the city at their MB Bandshell show. I had not seen the band in 40 years — still great!
