The goal is to control our labor and thus make the oligarchs more powerful. The vehicle is fascism. They have a plan, Project 2025. This is the national conversation we’ve refused to have in the past. Who are we? What are our values? Unfortunately our language is and has always been violence.

I’m well aware of history. I fought for this country in uniform. Is this worse than chattel slavery? We saw this coming & voted appropriately in past 3 elections. Your urgency comes from the confederacy now having levers of government. Be brave and keep fighting like we have for the past 400 yrs.

The world is gone forever. We can only move forward.We need to design a country inclusive to all. For people of color like myself the place you want to return to is not a lot different from today it was just a bit more subtle but always present.

You’re missing the bigger point. This is a continuation from our founding. Unresolved issues that caused a civil war, redirected reconstruction, ushered in Jim Crow and the lost cause narrative. The names have changed but fascism has always been a part of the equation. It’s as American as apple pie.

I get it. When I am returning from a road trip and coming down the mountain on I-17 towards Phoenix there’s this spot where you descend off of a mesa and see your first saguaro 🌵 cactus. Then I know I’m home.

Unpopular opinion: he failed to protect America from fascism. He could have convicted ALL the insurrectionist and not vigorously pursuing a conviction in a timely manner will define him for history.
