#Filmmaker / #ExecutiveProducer & a Sciencey/Wiencey kinda guy! Amateur (or perhaps immature?) #Astronomer, #Physicist, #StarTreker, #PlanetarySociety member. And above all else, a Loving Husband/Father/Son. 🖖
You said "evolution isn't a fact, but a theory". You're using the word 'theory' as if it means 'hypothesis' or 'guess'. In science, a theory is a model of how/why the facts work. Evolution IS an observed fact & the 'Scientific Theory of Evolution' is a model to explain how the observed facts happen.

So - just need to upgrade the CHARA Interferometer Array... it has an effective aperture of 330 meters, and a resolution of about 200 micro-arcseconds currently. So, just need to upgrade it by about 200 million times better, and were golden! :D

You can't say "it's just a theory" in science, because facts & theories are different things. They aren't hierarchy rungs on a ladder of increasing certainty. Facts are the just data, the observations of the world. Theories are the structure or the models, which explain & predict those observations.

And a scientific fact is not more important or higher priority than a scientific theory. They are totally different things: a fact is an observation, while a theory organizes & explains a bunch of observations. A theory makes predictions which can be falsified with more observations or experiments.

For example, in science 'mass' & 'weight' are different. 'Speed' & 'velocity' are different. And to the point, 'theory' doesn't mean 'a guess' or 'an idea that just occurred' like it might in colloquial English. Saying 'just a theory' only means that you don't understand what a scientific theory is.

To quote Inigo Montoya, "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means". :)

Sorry to break it to you, but certain words have a subtly different meaning in science. EG, in colloquial English, 'theory' & 'hypothesis' & 'guess' all kinda mean the same - but not in science.

The very first book I bought for myself was "The Search for Planet X", which was the story of Percival Lowell and (mostly of) Clyde Tombaugh and his discovery of Pluto. They let me order that in Grade 1, in 1968, through the #ScholasticBookClub ❤️

I'm a Filmmaker / Producer too -- so, we'll see... this might make a cameo appearance in some film. I've been meaning to get my #Amiga 1000 into one of our films at some point, but this Comspace has a certain aesthetic just get sneaked into a film.

Yes - MUCH more like key-punch cards than magnetic. It is a Mylar card with holes, and there are 'fingers' which make contact through those holes as the drum turns. So, yes, a very short program (but it's a 4-bit computer too) so one revolution of the drum is the length of the 'program'.

This is the Full Video! Feels more a "Short Film in the Musical genre" than just a music video. Pretty dang good!
