Our local osprey pair here in Flagstaff, Arizona, arrived a few days ago. Made my heart soar to watch them.

Shredded potatoes, leek, and I diced up some good bacon. The trick was really letting the potatoes drain, keeping the starch, and making sure I got a consistent crust throughout. It actually ended up being delicious! I hope my seed starts do as well 🤣

I want to share this in case you missed it. Read the New Yorker article when you can. I live in the midst of a huge Ponderosa Pine forest and ALL the USFS staff keep us safe.

I so needed that, as did my partner, after our day today fighting the good fight. It reminded us of our dear Nemo. And made us smile. Thanks for this.

I just stopped by my local bookstore and rushed in saying "Riley Black has a new book!" They smiled and pointed it out, right up front of the shop. Can't wait to dive into this one.

Well, my understanding is that when you see this many ravens together they are usually juveniles. Ravens hang like bored teens, doing the same thing. I think this is the raven version of cruising 😁 As adults they stick with their mates and close friends. Crows on the other hand remain more social.
