What do we have left that resembles a functioning democracy? Freedom of speech and freedom of press are officially gone. The military is occupying American cities. People are being herded up and imprisoned without due process. The legislative and judicial branches no longer provide checks.

Democrats need to embrace the left if they want to win in 2026. No more catering to moderates. No more supporting genocidal nations.

I keep thinking of the Republican response to the murders of Rep. Melissa Hortman and husband Mark and attempted murders of Sen. John Hoffman and wife Yvette. There has never been a more demonstrable proof of their lack of basic human empathy.

The best instruments for oppression have always been religious texts. If an entity of evil were a reality, the best way to keep humanity ignorant would be to give them contradictory religious texts with jealous, angry god who punished non-believers and rewarded absolute blind unquestioned faith.

Trump is talking about pardoning the people who conspired to kidnap and murder Governor Whitmer. This has to stop.
