Weekend stuff…niece’s 7th birthday, got the Scottie quilt hung, made cinnamon rolls for kids at school, and my daffy dills finally bloomed in the swishy washy. Hey from Lopez Island in the beautiful San Juans PNW!

Today’s open face PBJ on honey wheat (still slightly warm). Trying new wheat bread recipes. Used organic @cairnspringmills AP and freshly milled whole wheat using grains from @northstarlopezisland The oven spring was a little surprising (a couple ice cubes tossed in the bottom of the oven helped).

Going into 2025 with a good mindset. I’m glad to be where I am and even more glad not to be living in a red state anymore. I’ve stopped watching network news and try to glean only the facts from reliable sources. What is your honest source for information?

Thankfully we live in a blue state. That being said, we still need to stand up for who we are (we have lots of traffic from tourists visiting our island each day). We can’t win all the battles but we can’t simply give up and represent. 🌈
