I see people badmouthing Jeffries in response to this, as if he's already backtracked. I'd encourage folks to NOT punish pols for doing the thing you want them to do. Praise this stance and this moment. Keep pressure on not to surrender, and assume we should simultaneously push on other fronts, too.
Hakeem Jeffries comes out against the bill funding ICE and DHS. This seems like quite a big deal.
