The moon is always full in Hollywood, and because SINNERS mentioned a specific date (October 16, 1932), naturally I went to TimeAndDate.com to fact-check. Looks like Mr. Coogler did his homework. See alt text for further details.

Equinox sunset over Mount Blue Sky
On Thursday, March 20, 2025, the sun sets over the slope of Mount Blue Sky. Further up the slope, the decommissioned Meyer-Womble Observatory. The sun is setting further northward (rightward) and a minute later every evening. My goal for this weekend: to snap a sunset exactly over the observatory, as seen from my own front yard. At best, this can only be done two days a year, in March and September—offer only valid on sunny days. Also, the summit road (usually open in summer) is closed for repairs until 2026. It is possible the observatory structure may be dismantled during this time. If so, this could be my last chance to make such a shot. If I pull it off, I will post the results here first.
