Ecologist. Plant lady, not cat lady, thank you very much. Cats are ok though. But keep them inside!!
Fwiw I garden a lot and still find seeds tricky. Any kind of propagation has a steep learning curve.

That is definitely how seeds work, to a degree. Older seeds absolutely have reduced germ rates, esp if not stored in ideal conditions. Mint grows easily from cuttings, just buy (or 'proplift') a few stems, strip the lower leaves and stick into your plugs or right into your medium, they will root

Did you see this? Yet another reason that I don't believe anti-trans policies have anything to do with looking out for women's sports

Definitely. All medical interventions have risks and side effects. Risks to doing nothing as well.. But I know if my child were suicidal I'd do anything in my power to help them. I'm sure you would too.

Yes gender is definitely a social construct. But I have to disagree, affirming care can't wait. The onset of puberty is a hugely distressing event if what's happening to your body doesn't match what you know about who you are. It's truly life threatening.

I would believe that when I see it somewhere credible. I'd be pretty surprised if a doctor would do that in the US with the risk of malpractice.

I'm really sorry to hear that. I hope things things are much better now. No facial differences in boys and girls until puberty. So we're relying on social cues- hair, clothes, social groups.

I love this! They're best for dignity, accessibility, family friendly.

I agree that doctors have a duty to inform parents/patients of all risks, especially for permanent procedures. But they do this already! Just ask how long pts wait to get these procedures approved. Also could be wrong but I don't think most doctors will even do these procedures on people under 18.

Did you know you were a boy? Did you know others in your class were boys or girls without seeing them undressed? How? Did you know your sexual orientation before having any actual experiences? That aside, my belief is that every human is the most reliable narrator of their own experience.

All those places I listed that I was groped or harassed were in broad daylight in the open. Nothing emboldens men more than knowing they'll get away with it.

Laws that give creeps a pretense to demand to know what type of genitals another adult or child has definitely increase the chance of risky bathroom encounters.
February 10, 2025 at 11:45 PM
Another thing to consider: should children then not be able to be prescribed any drugs for mental health? What about treatment for life threatening depression or eating disorders? Gender dysphoria is life threatening, greatly increased risk of suicide.

My point is, neither you or I know tons about the myriad uses of various hormonal drugs or their long term risks and benefits, why not leave that to doctor and patient? I'd no more weigh in on whether you should be on rogaine or statins or viagra or bupropion. Not my business.

Movie theater, library, bus, bathroom, bar, city street...those are just the ones off the top of my head. Doesn't seem like just a bathroom problem.
