and like that, within literal hours being free of it- back into the layout. Adding swathes of wildflower

The project that's been occupying my creative mental space and actual workbench, after several months, is now done.

That's all I got for now. Might retake a couple of these, do want to continue the project.
For my efforts - folks, don't tit about on rocks trying to chase the ghosts of your heroes.

As mentioned previous, further up and back was probably the more accurate here, but its not like that it'd have improved modern day visibility any.

in this haunt I realised after getting home I needed to be like another couple rocks further back up the outcrop, and to the left a little more by maybe 5-10m

(I was actually on my way to collect my Fuji lense, which had returned from from being in the shops, that would have been a much more ideal glass for the task)

One of the things I was trying to keep constant too - at the time Weston was on a Voigtlander Vitesse II with I THINK the stock 50mm lense, so on my crop sense I hade to make sure my 16-300 on my APS-C camera was at close to the 30mm setting as I could make it.

Where the previous shot I think I was close-as-possible to nailed, I think Weston was maybe 5-10 meters forward in these shots. STILL.

So I have a little photographic project that I've been mulling for a little- trying to recreate the shots from one of the most prolific Aussie rail photographers - Weston Langford.
7 Days short of exactly 60 years ago, he took this shot at Hove station. The shelter's gone so I can't match the height

I'm real curious why the YT Music copy of "Turn The Radio Off" by Reel Big Fish that seems to be the censored radio broadcast version, and also has this album art. Like, I know that their first 3 are, with much animosity, property of the record label, but this is certainly something more.

Lawd, take me back. Do we have dining car service? no.
Do we have the non-commuter passenger rail infrastructure that could support it any more? also no.
(I get that WA is a tough sell on country pax rail largely because the serviced population out there is mostly too low to justify... but, still)

There's a specific little gravel micro-biome on my work ride that right now is like... packed with Roo paws and Leek Orchids amongst the Leschenaultias and more "regular" wildflowers. And the thing is how distinct the spot is in contrast to it's surrounds

At least I caught this inbound grain lash with double-heading P classes before the lense decided to stop working again.
October 30, 2025 at 8:31 AM
That is all.

Starting with a small amount of it to see how it looks. Given it's naturalised weed state, no doubt it'll end up being a much heavier application (especially on the as-yet-un-scenic-ed east end of town which directly adjoins crop fields)

Finally got around to trying out making some Patterson's Curse (Echium plantagineum) for the layout.
