Rozfeld's Phoenix (Infernopavo rosfeldi) are garish male birds emanating a warm-colored plumage throughout their bodies. When threatened, it is said that these birds engulf themselves aflame using a special sweat that functions as lighter fluid, and is secreted throughout its body via a gland that produces these unique properties to its sweat. After the mating season passes, the long tail feathers come off naturally, giving the firebird more mobility and agility. They typically inhabit grasslands, steppes, and semi-open rainforest galleries of the Western Continent's "Sky Islands."

A rare and unusual member of the Chirocuta family, the Beholderbeast is a dangerous monster that's seldom-seen amongst The Realms for years. Reports regarding this monster are little due to their violent-minded nature. Chances of surviving this encounter are usually slim to none, and those that do are rumored to be deaf. It's usual attacks are made up of soundwaves that can be heard across 8 miles in its radius, and it's completely capable of shattering its enemies' ears from approximately 30,000 decibels. The Beholderbeast's muscles are thick enough to shrug off a normal attack in addition to some thick plating on its forearms and thighs for protection. Most dangerous of all is it's ire and relentless nature. The beast's magical strength should also be accounted for. It's weak point is found on the throat sac. By targeting the throat, it's sound-based attacks will weaken and become hoarse when badly injured, and will start to use physical attacks to pummel you!

Although worm-like in appearance, the Mind Wyrms are infact paedomorphic fae that ditched their adult stages and instead evolved endoparasitism very early on. These miniscule dragons usually infect the brain, but sometimes taking residence in the spinal cord by anchoring themselves using their fluke in which it resembles a neuron cell after finding a suitable place to feed and produce whelps. For something that has such a simple, yet basal bodyplan, they are notorious amongst doctors and surgeons as they're expensive to remove because of the anchored fluke is attached to the brain. Forcibly removing it will cause permanent brain damage to the host!

Both divine and belligerent, Sleipnir is a mythical beast of equine traits that once belonged to an ancient king in days of yore as a gift from one of his two sons. According to local myths, his horn is said to split the heavens and rend the earth apart down to its threads in a single swipe, and guides its riders to victory in times of war. Should this mighty stallion deem you worthy for the venerable title of king is considered the greatest honor a Warrior of The Hinterlands can achieve!

A metallic tower shield of Tiamatlan antique; a priceless artifact, coveted by Tiamatlan nobles in the upper echelons of the social hierarchy. That includes the Peregwyn Family — which Vanguard's Valor, Valeria — proudly belongs to the Peregwyns. The shield was mostly used for show, rather than in times of war. A five-headed serpent sits below a metallic flower separated by what appears to be vines. An brilliant blue gem sits in the flower's center whereas another of the same gem sits directly below where the serpent is at, shrouded by mist. The plating and detailing itself is made from refined steel with gold-leaf covering its elegant exterior.

"Feńriz, the Half-wolf and half-dragon... but all man-eater..." Walking on frost-bitten fangs, a cold-blooded beast roams in the dead of night, during the bleakest of blizzards; during where winter hits hardest, when all you see is inky black and icy white, covered in the frozen field that is Cocytus. You won't survive long enough to tell the tale when the man-eater of Port Cocytus hunts you down! This cryptic beast was described as having four limbs, the head of a wolf, fore-wings of a wyvern, and malformed horns jotting out from its head. Others included (but not limited to) a heavily matted tail near the base, a blue star that follows it in the monster's wake, and a blind right eye following a scarred face. One reported that it was the uncommon Northern Highland Dragon, a dragon species found in elevations around 3,990+ feet above the sea level. Another report suggests it may have been a Blizzard Howler, a subspecies relating to the Boreal Howler that hunts in deep into the winter. Whether this cryptid was real or not was debatable as it was last sighted nearly a century ago...

Urne's Nidhoqq (or just Nidhoqq) are omnivorous wyrms said to be found below the ground, mooching off on the nutritious roots of various trees, especially those that rumored to live for a long time such as the Greatwood Conifer. Nidhoqq have a number of adaptations to living underground like broad claws to easily tunnel through the dirt; an elongated body to grapple onto roots and tubers; and barbels and a especially sensitive nose to detect prey, threats, rivals, and mates while within it's radius, thus reducing its eye-vision. Male Nidhoqqs are called boars whereas Female Nidhoqqs are called sows. Two words are said in Runic Alphabet on the Nidhoqq: the first one near the dragon's upper torso translates to "Nidhoggr" and another by it's lower half of thr body says "Roots".

Goliath Burrowing Beetle (Paradorcus fossoravenator) Giant flightless stag beetles found within marshlands of Drake's Cradle, taking a niche analogous to crocodiles and its predecessors by burrowing beneath the ground using his front limbs —specialized for digging— and grabbing their prey from its strong mandibles to strangle their prey to death; potentially breaking bone in some cases. Despite his hunting method, these beetles often hunt to rear their hyper-carnivorous larvae, which are left by the females —who don't have the large mandibles of the males— after the male digs out a burrow for her and lays about 9-16 eggs in total before leaving the nest. The male will protect this burrow from predators and egg-thieves alike until his offspring hatches and reach maturity of within 3-a-half months.

The Bumpy-Snouted Fae (or Imps, called by the locals) are mischievous fae-drakes, and close relatives to the good-natured Glowtail Fae-Drake. They have a distinguished snout that feels bumpy and rough in texture, thus giving their name. These small, impish drakes are highly sociable and often found in small groups led by a greater imp of the same species in the wild, preferably near human settlements with ample darkness. When stressed, these fae will actively seek any form of what they call "entertainment"; be it a light-hearted prank, a toy from their neglectful master, or perhaps... something far more sinister in mind. When left unchecked, it'll gradually become a hazard for settlements and must be slain before it can wreak anymore havoc.

The Highland Strutfowl (Dromeogallus ferus) are natural-born runners native from the grasslands of Drake's Cradle — a medium-sized continent that leans south below the equator — that gradually got domesticated due to their broad diet and mild-temperament to sophont races in ages of recent past. Throughout their extensive history, it is a commonly used mount known for its dexterity, endurance, and versatility. This is a Common Strutter, a breed of Highland Strutfowl used by many travelers, bandits, and merchants, and rookie hunters for their lightweight frame and accessibility. There are other breeds that not only function as mounts; there are others that serve as livestock guardians, pets, bred for performance, and even sustenance such as their eggs and meat.

The "Octo-ölm" or Talamewt are ancient dragons found in secluded regions of The Realm, mainly inhabiting inside complex underwater ways and caves. Not much is currently known regarding this amphibious dragon other than its notable regenerative capabilites and long lifespan; perhaps long enough to make an old Elven noble feel jealous.

The Speckled Longgui are derived from a family of basal tarasques that split off early on. These shy Seafaring tarasques are surprisingly agile despite the combined weight of their shells and luscious fur-like fibers that hangs off their tail. They're not exactly the fastest creatures in the sea, but they can move quite elegantly in the water albeit in a somewhat slow pace. Speckled Longgui are piscivorus and often stay in groups of up to 4-9 members in total; most likely as an anti-predator mechanism as they fall prey to the Nāagi, a serpentine, shell-crushing specialist found in both fresh and saltwater enviroments.

The Rot-tail Wingdrake are aerial scavengers found throughout The Realms, primarily feeding on carcasses that contain potent pathogens, such as Wyrm's Rot. They're named that solely because they lack a spade-like tail like most wingdrakes, likely so due their rough lives. Some individuals however, have been known to keep their tails intact up until they fully matured, which in itself is a rare sight to behold!

A Close up of the Nāagi (Thalassoraja Imugii) Blood and scales from this estuarine serpent is said to cleanse and wipe away other poisons and other evils from the mind, spirit, and body and its place prosperity and serenity. Large, and undulating, the Nāagi are found in warm seas — such as Orochi's Strait and South Aetherian Seaway — south in The Realm. Using their strong jaws and teeth, the Nāagi are serpentine specialists of cracking down large-bodied and shelled prey. It's diet also consists of large fish and smaller dragons. These dragons are worshipped as a religious figure amongst the Yuān-Ti as one of several Gods in their pantheon as a representative of rebirth, vitality, and water.

The fae drakes are the most diverse order of all the true dragons. Often ranging from as small as your nails to growing as big as a peasant's hat; these pint, little whelps practically fill in various niches from frugivory/nectivory, to even the likes of parasitism. This species seems to be a Bellflower Pixie-Catcher, or the Carmine Pixie-Catcher; an ambush predator that specializes in hunting pixies using an aromatic smell emanating from the flower-like appendage dangling from it's tail.
