Sure, Maduro was already indicted in 2020 on massive drug trafficking and weapons charges in the US. So were the two convicted narco traffickers Trump just pardoned. What's the difference? He has no credibility with that claim for his actions in Venezuela.

Well, it is one bit of approved Congressional budgetary spending that he has allowed to proceed. The things he doesn't like (mostly foreign spending) he has just unilaterally decided not to pay. So, in twisted logic...

War (offensive, armed conflict) is only a piece of national defense. Our DoD is so much more than kicking in doors and "warheads on foreheads." Cooperative security, partner development, civil affairs, etc., ensures our collective defense for much lower costs both financially and in human capital.
