As good as Synology is, it’s about 3% as user friendly as Drobo was. I cannot believe the amount of time I waste sorting out network mount issues on this thing.

The family is watching Severance in the living room and … it’s fine I guess? It’s ‘Lost’ 2.0. I don’t understand why people are going bonkers about the show. It’s certainly not bad but it’s not a generational event or anything. It’s a puzzle box show with a monotonous soundtrack.

One thing about living in #florida nobody ever talks about: it's impossible to find nature. I want to go camping--walk into the woods, find a spot, and camp--and it's incredibly difficult.
I don't want "campsite features". I want nature. It's awful. (And surprising--it's so beautiful here.)

I cannot begin to describe how much I don't care about the Tiktok ban. It's a brainrot platform filled with self-obsessed people who aren't as smart as they think. But it's also of almost zero importance compared to mass deportations and whatnot.

Humans don't have a good sense of scale. I'm reading this thing about Star Wars, marveling that at its peak the Empire had 20,000 star destroyers. And I'm like "that's all? for a galaxy??" I'm not sure 20k could lock down our solar system.

Are all of these “DOT sues Southwest” stories happening because enforcement is ticking up or because there isn’t news to cover? If the former, is it because Dems want to paint GOP as hostile when they inevitably drop the claims?

I just picked up my old Canon 5D #camera and, goodness, it makes mirrorless cameras look like toys. It’s still a powerhouse more than a decade later.

My wife and I couldn't have a more different attitude towards #football. I hate it. She loves it. It's a little more nuanced than that: I can enjoy college ball, and college ball is her love. She enjoys having pro ball on as environmental noise, I can't be in the same room with it.

I don't really understand the socioeconomics of LA. The news will show an unemployed guy who is "fighting to save the flamingos on his 17-acre Malibu estate." Are these third sons of money or something?
