If a grease fire starts in your pan, don’t use water — it will make the flames explode. A few simple steps can keep your family safe and your Thanksgiving dinner on track.

Today, TMFR Fire Chief Edwards and Fire Commissioners officially dedicated the completion of the expansion and modernization of Station 37, serving Hidden Valley.

The 4,325 sq. ft. expansion includes a new apparatus bay to accommodate two firefighting apparatus. 🚒

To prevent fires, have your chimney and vents cleaned and professionally inspected at least once a year to remove creosote buildup, soot, and debris. Regular cleaning is critical because flammable creosote can accumulate and ignite, leading to a chimney fire.

TGIF! Even on calm, cool days, fire safety should never take a break.

✅ Dispose of ashes and yard debris safely — never in plastic or paper containers.

✅ Keep space heaters at least three feet from anything that can burn.

✅ Test smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.

Take advantage of removing green waste, such as leaves and other debris that can become a fire hazard around your property and use the Waste Management program to put up to six extra bags out in your assigned trash pickup days without the use of the assigned stickers.
