The Unexpected Spy by Tracy Walder is a very illuminating book. I think of her often after seeing how the CIA and FBI has been turned on it's head and how she must feel seeing what is happening to both of those institutions.

I was stationed in Panama for 3 years and was there when President Carter signed the treaty giving them control of the canal. Panamanians were then and are now proud of what they have accomplished with the canal operations. They have no patience for this admins bluster.
