I’ve lived in Maine for pretty much her entire career. Your theory, while complex and obscure, seems likely to prove true.

Thank you for calling attention to this, as a resident of Leo’s vacation state.

Does Bernie Sanders count?

Maine voter here. Know Mills and her family decently well. Amazing folks. Have immense respect for Gov Mills. I am all for the primary process and it’ll all get shaken out. But I feel a little burned by the Gideon flameout and the DSCC’s hand in all this stuff. Thank god we have ranked choice voting

Because the national party apparatus doesn’t care about developing talent because most of the candidates for development are too left for the donor class, regardless of their potential for widespread support.

Well said Ms. Heck.

Great. No disagreement here. Although I’m not sure posting on X is a great look.

Ok. I’m done here.
October 19, 2025 at 3:34 PM
I know. That wasn’t what I asked you.

Really spreading this post around, huh? Would you prefer Collins over Platner?

The last time we got a candidate hand-picked by the DSCC we got Sara Gideon and more dollars spent per vote in a losing campaign than ever before in American history. Mills has done a lot for Maine over the years but I don’t think this is her time. Gillibrand and Schumer gotta go, too.

Someone should look into it but I wouldn’t hold my breath on it being the Atlantic.

Smiling like she earned it.

This is, almost always, the answer. It’s like Milton Friedman’s Razor or something.

Expect better from you than this. Reductive.

Gideon was our prior challenger, also selected by D.C. Dem elites, & she had won plenty before. She also spent more per vote than any other candidate that cycle and got destroyed by Collins in a year which she should have won in a cake walk. I respect and admire Mills, but she's more like Gideon.
