I was intrigued by a scientific report a few years ago that the temperature of the Atlantic ocean was regulated by Arctic and Greenland glaciers. If they melt the ocean will warm. Looks like it's happening.

The people in this modern world have petroleum and its byproducts embedded in our lives. Trying to get off carbon products will be very painful, if it is even possible. Controlling climate change is tied directly reducing our petroleum dependency.

I believe there are four threats to humanity: 1 climate change 2. Technology misuse 3. Authoritarianism and wars. 4. Population growth.

These do not include natural disasters such as asteroid impacts, or earthquakes.
