8/10 for a "modern JRPG" or remake, but 10/10 for it's time. Simply insane how powerfully influential this game is.
Also, fantastic soundtrack, both the remastered and original.

The open world nature of certain parts of the game was so surprising to me, and it was even more surprising how well it worked. I'm so glad I made some time to play this, and might dip into other ones in the future...and will certainly play DQ12 when it comes out.
