This week's viewing included a visually sumptuous adaptation of my favorite book, a mediocre precognitive spy noir, a terrifically bleak and sadly relevant noir about Nazi indoctrination, and an interestingly skewed sequel to Dracula.

Bach's Toccata and Fugue in 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. It's such a beautiful expression of the darkness in Nemo, plus I always loved the idea that there were whales hearing the Nautilus go by and thinking, "Damn, that guy's in a mood."
