Happy #Letterboxd Friday What's YOUR #LastFourWatched? #filmsky

This week's viewing included a visually sumptuous adaptation of my favorite book, a mediocre precognitive spy noir, a terrifically bleak and sadly relevant noir about Nazi indoctrination, and an interestingly skewed sequel to Dracula.

Happy #Letterboxd Friday What's YOUR #LastFourWatched? #filmsky

This week's viewing included our annual terrible Hallmark holiday movie, a brilliant neo-noir that deserved to start a franchise, a great classic noir, and a surreal take on Fright Night by way of David Lynch and Andrew Wyeth.

Happy Halloween, all! This week's viewing included a 1980s British TV classic, a superb Bradbury adaptation with my favorite screen villain, a clumsy Italian zombie/cannibal hybrid, and a fun werewolf flick with a great canine hero.

Bach's Toccata and Fugue in 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. It's such a beautiful expression of the darkness in Nemo, plus I always loved the idea that there were whales hearing the Nautilus go by and thinking, "Damn, that guy's in a mood."

This week included a TV movie classic showcasing the great Karen Black, a tepid killer kids movie, and two films featured as part of our horror marathon: one of the greatest horror flicks of the 21st century, and DePalma's best film.

Happy #LetterboxdFriday What's YOUR #LastFourWatched? #filmsky

This week included a superior monster remake that's become an accidental Halloween tradition for me, two 1980s slashers featuring college students haunted by the past, and an atmospheric debut for an Italian master of horror.
