I highly recommend Paint Tool SAI. It has a 30 day free trial and an active community producing brushes/tutorials for it. Also, no subscription, you pay the licensing fee ONCE. I bought it back in 2012.

Yup! I started working with a tablet a good... 15? years ago and getting the hand/eye coordination down to where I was habitually looking at the screen instead of down at the tablet took several months. Don't forget to flip and tilt your canvas, and remember ctrl+z is your friend. 😎👉👉

Is your tablet a screen tablet or a regular one? A lot of it is learning the hand/eye coordination too. You'll get the hang of it!

You're very welcome! Depending on the program you're using, you may also have a ruler option that will let you draw circles/ellipses. I know SAI does. Try checking youtube for beginner tips for the program/s you're using!

I have 2 tips for drawing circles that aren't what you're already doing:
1: grab a bottle cap with a fairly smooth bottom. Pill bottles and the like also work. You can trace around it exactly like you might on paper.
2: find a brush size about the size you want, get it down, then erase the inside.
