Furry that escaped from botville. 40 years old. SL User (18 years?!), waning video game, avid board gamer. Also wrestles as Akane Asaki in EAW in SL
Ahh, that's good then. Sadly the WW collection is in more legal limbo now than Heretic 2 is (as MS owns everyone related to that game: Raven, ID, and Activision)

If you're running PG and HTP on any Zdoom port, make sure you grab the patch for both megawads (Fixes the level names for both wads while the HTP patch restores the monster code as certain enemies CAN'T infight)

Also was the first ever video game champion in Space Invaders and founded Interplay games

THE very first video game champion (Space Invaders). Also, assisted with Killing Time

I got to Map 5 by the time learned about Turbo...both megawads I head of this past couple of months XD. Hell, I didn't even know I had NRFTL until after I got grandfathered into the KEX ports (As NRFTL is apparently a part of the BFG version and, well, the only other option was the unity frontend)

GDT is more in line with Overboard's difficulty than the original is, but OB and GDT are still pretty tough. I'm at like Map 24 in GDT so far, but I'm at like 1 or 2 levels per session even at NTR difficulty

The thing that sticks out the most to me is that he has GTA5 in the Then...which has an online mode that has some corporate greed in it!

I use -iwad doom/doom2 -file pwads and pk3 files in my batch files and those work on UZDoom.
November 17, 2025 at 5:11 PM
Yeah, all of the megawads I play still work in UZDoom, as well as colored blood (CBlood 1.1) and NashgoreNext. Granted, would have been odd if those two Nash mods didn't work XD. Also, with the *Zdoom patch Cblood plays nice with the changes to the enemies that Hell To Pay did
November 17, 2025 at 5:06 PM
And even if you ignore the mods, there's 2 additional Doom 1 episodes (Sigil and Sigil 2) and 3 Doom 2 Expansions in D 1+2 (Final Doom (TNT Evilution and Plutonia), No Rest for the Living [9 map long episode] and Legacy of Rust [2 more Doom 2 episodes as long as Doom 1's episodes])
November 17, 2025 at 5:17 AM
And it's funny that you mentioned Doom as Doom 1+2 has a built in mod browser and downloader! (just...watch out for mods that weren't made to be vanilla compatible if you go outside of the spotlight section)
November 17, 2025 at 5:12 AM
Yeah, while the first release (RC1) had to fix some big problems behind the scenes in regards to security. While also having to change all of the program names to proper in documentation and code. So I get why it was a more incremental release.

My best guess is that the jig is up and they're putting their masks back on
November 16, 2025 at 8:27 PM
Or, worse yet, they used to make videos where they spoke normally in their native language then...they decide to AI Dub <_<
November 16, 2025 at 7:13 AM
And...some games have a rabbit hole's amount of fan content to go through as well!
November 16, 2025 at 6:29 AM
Yeah, there was some AI Drama within the Doom community when Graf Zaul (lead of GZDoom) used AI Slop in the code and during the bickering he said effectively "Okay, yeah, maybe AI might be bad for coding...but it would be good for more 'disposable things like ART!'". Just...yikes
November 15, 2025 at 7:28 PM
It's always "Won't somebody think of the devs!"...until it comes to mass layoffs
November 15, 2025 at 7:25 PM
Like there's been so many ways that people that tried to fix the Doom quirks to their liking but no one agreed on them. the Kex port of the doom games only supports...2 of them (The original standard that came through Doom, Doom 2, and Final Doom and Boom, the port by the Evilution devs)
November 15, 2025 at 7:23 PM
And some games have absolute RABBIT HOLES when it comes to mods. The biggest feature of Doom 1+2 and Heretic+Hexen is that they support a good number of mods without requiring a 3rd party source port (though you should only download the mods in their browsers with how...XKCD the doom community is)
