4/ I understand technology advances and progresses, we have seen massive improvements in battery technology in general (phones and laptops) in the past decade, I can see a point in the future where EVs fully address this issue.

3/ While I am sure there are tools, whether on-board or external that can help gauge the useful life remaining out of a battery, some phones and laptops have this, my understanding is that EV batteries currently reach end-of-life much much sooner than piston rings, connecting rods and frames do.

2/ My 2nd holdout is battery lifespan. How long on average until they can't hold a charge anymore and how much for a replacement? I refuse to buy new vehicles (gas or otherwise) because there are simply way too many r*tards with driving licenses out there, I know how to size-up a used gas-car.

I myself am not against EVs, it's just that I live in a part of the world where 90+% of our electrical power comes from burning fossil fuels. Unless and until that changes, EVs are no better than gas-cars in terms of environmental footprint.

Change can be frightening for a lot of people. Tesla doing remote shutdowns of their vehicles after unauthorized repairs will be something the anti-EVers will hold onto for decades. This has nothing to do with EVs, but it is what they will latch onto to rationalize their fear of change.
