I need to watch more Italian crime/cop dramas. I started digging into the genre several years ago (partly because of an Edgar Wright Hot Fuzz commentary) but when the Netflix DVD plans went away I dropped off & never circled back around to it.

You're probably right. The core elements across the series are fairly cyclical anyway - there's (almost) always a Link, a Zelda, a Ganon, etc. Some sort of "find the pieces of the thing to do the thing" quest that sends Link to a few aesthetically distinct dungeons, etc.

This might be heresy, but as much as I love the BotW & TotK games, I still think Ocarina of Time is the most cinematic (in terms of having a narrative that lends itself to feature film storytelling) - and even it would be a heavy lift to get right.

I kid you not, I've been really wanting to revisit this one made-for-TV version that aired on TNT in the early 90s with Randy Quaid as the monster. I know I watched it as a kid, & it made an impression. Warner Archive did a DVD a while back, & I just haven't found time to watch it.

After, like, most of a week after seeing it I finally wrote a bit because it was bugging me that I hadn't logged it in Letterboxd...but I didn't want to log it without saying *something* about it. But I really need to revisit it & think some more. Maybe I'll do a weekend of Frankenstein adaptations.
