One of my favorite hikes is Mt Pilchuck due to it's unique view of (a) the Cascades to the east and (b) Puget Sound to the the west. Check out this photo (of Puget Sound), then annotated, then with a google map version:

Amazing shot from Lost Creek Ridge (soon-ish after Bingley Gap). I made a little map to try to explain to myself how I saw what I saw: Mt Pugh, White Chuck Mtn, and Mt Baker, perfectly aligned.

Maybe my favorite photo from that day: running down, on the slope of Mt Defiance, into this lovely landscape:

There was a pretty cool looking inversion (the morning of 9/01). This is looking south from ~400' below the summit of Mt Defiance:

These goats are not shy. Better keep yo' sweaty limbs away from them (they love the salt from the sweat):

The most "This is Idaho" photo ever: Shale rock summit overlooking a lake (Lake Pend Oreille) with mountain goats, from the summit of Scotchman Peak:

My new/favorite post-hike/post-run beverage is a Craft Boss™ coffee, introduced to me via a vending machine in Japan. Craft Boss™ makes it all worth it.

Who knew there would be so many things to discuss w/r/t Hibox. A few years ago, Hibox was featured in a scene from Top Gun: Maverick. Check it out:

While we're on the subject of Hibox, here's a hi-rez photo of the space between Chikamin (l) and Lemah (r).

Image #4 of 4: My OCD level one billion effort to identify the surrounding mountains from the summit of Hibox. Q: Can you see Kyes Peak? A: I believe you can, yes. It's tucked between Chikamin and Lemah.

(Confidence level: not 100% in this case)

The is what the summit of Del Campo looks like. It's rocky. It doesn't feel completely stable to me (but that doesn't stop me from going on up there and clowning around 🤣😂).

A hi-rez shot of the summit of Pugh. The summit of Pugh is four miles away from the summit of Forgotten. It's *right there*:

E.g.: hi-rez photo of the left-hand side of the lake basin wall. It's impossible to overstate how cool the terrain surrounding the lake is.

Round Lake, from maybe 200' above. The local topography in that basin is wicked rad. I took a ton of photos.

My new favorite photo of the Monte Cristo Group: Del Campo, Morningstar, Vesper Peak, Sperry Peak, and Big Four (left to right). Taken from Lost Creek Ridge.

(FWIW All of these photos are from this summer)
