Serious question: If you agree that Takaichi and other Japanese politicians hold revisionist views of WWII, why is it false that they want to revive Imperial Japan's expansionism? Approving something means you want that something to happen.

CS Lewis was exactly right for this. Imagine a food equivalent of gooners somehow. (BTW gooners themselves use food analogies!) What would be our response be? Wouldn't we think this whole thing is totally fucked?

All this talk about manufacturing jobs reminded me of this cartoon, "Southeastern Industrial Complex," based on the true story of the author's experience of working at a factory in Incheon.

I revisited CSIS's absolute hackery over the April 2024 General Election that turned out to be spectacularly wrong. Imagine my cackling when I found out they pulled the article because one of the authors, Sue Mi Terry, was indicted for taking money from the Yoon admin!

@junotane.com argues that US (under Trump) negotiating directly with North Korea may lead to a crisis of legitimacy within South Korean conservatives because such a detente would crack their core internal logic.

Allow me to offer a counter-argument via two photos:
