Note to self. The firefox issue is probably coming from some ubuntu + nvidia weirdness, I think it only happens after waking from suspend. Probably didn't need to reinstall FF after all.

I found that the passive buzzer was getting really warm when inactive, that can't be right. Found this https://www.avrfreaks.net/s/topic/a5C3l000000Ub6bEAC/t156425
My module uses a PNP transistor, so I must set the IO pin to high to prevent it from wasting power. Fixed the issue with
on_boot:

me too! I thought they had to do a full update to change what is displayed, but they update much quicker than I expected.
