#askfedi What is a good wireless access point that can be found for around $50? I'm currently using a $5 Linksys from Goodwill for a part of my network and it sucks! I can't justify a $200 purchase just for better wifi though.

There is more human-made #art out there than you could experience in a lifetime.

To suffer looking at AI slop instead is tragic, even before we consider the weighty ethical, environmental, or economic issues.

Support small creators and share things made by real humans.

Fedi hive mind, I'm writing a story. The MC investigates a Luo folk song (re: oral history, Uganda/South Sudan) that has clues saying 500 yrs ago an astronomer from China visited and documented Luo space travel technologies (portals to the stars). This knowledge is now lost and my MC has to […]

Why has this not happened: a gameshow where 10 audiophiles have to tell the difference between expensive £1k - £10k audiophile gear and a £300 setup.

I would watch the SHIT out of that.

Maybe it's the fact that I grew up around shitty mobile games but solo casino games just do not appeal to me whatsoever. Like I can understand enjoying poker or something that has some level of social aspect but a slot machine? What even is the draw???

One thing I wish folks knew better about "Linux" that the annoying evangelists never seem to care to mention.

One of the most important differences from other platforms if *how you get your software*.

You don't download it from the author/publisher who might be (these days, is) bundling […]

I have discovered that teaching programming goes much better with my fifth grade students if I take the time to teach them about all the symbols I think of as "normal" that are totally new to them.
