Whatever you thought the lyrics to Send Me On My Way were, you are almost certainly wrong:

Oombayseeyou, oombaytellyou to run (on my way, on my way)
Omabadee, seemoobadeeyah
Well, pick me up with golden hand
And oombayseeyou, oombaytellyou to run (on my way, on my way)
Omabadee, seemoobadeeyah

So apparently Meta completely removed any and all ways to contact support for Ads. I'm having an issue that stops me from submitting a payment method. So... I guess I just don't get to use Facebook ads ever.

@bretdevereaux.bsky.social If someone were writing a Roman-inspired fantasy story, what books would you recommend they read to not get everything horribly wrong? Not about actual romans, but Will of the Many second world fantasy style

Saw Gladiator 2. I liked it but it tried too hard to connect itself to G1 and didn't try hard enough to emulate what made G1 so good. The loyalty of the other gladiators to the MC felt very cheaply earned. I would have loved a lot more scenes with them. I don't think we ever even learned their names

While all fantasy writing is just making random BS up, nothing feels more like that than pulling a chapter of magic system exploration out of your butt.

I've seen some people saying how "AI"-generated text is now as good as certain published authors, and honestly I think it's really brave for these folks to admit in public how poor their reading comprehension has to be

The publishing process is filled with so many micro milestones that by the time you are finished completely with a book, it feels very anticlimactic.

It makes me unreasonably mad that they made cloned dire wolves and named the female one Khaleesi. They weren't mentally unstable dragons. time.com/7274542/colo...
The Return of the Dire Wolf
Colossal Biosciences has genetically engineered the first dire wolf to live in over 10,000 years. Here's what that means for other extinct species.

I'm pretty sure most of Roman mythology wouldn't have happened if they either 1) Stopped killing unwanted children and raised them in loving homes, or 2) Found a more effective method of disposing of unwanted children than leaving them outside.

Okay so you've heard of Western Cultivation, where a western author uses the tropes and language of Cultivation novels, but have you ever read a Cultivation Western? With magic cowboys and shit?
