Your vote to fund government without ACA subsidies betrays Nevadans. Medicaid got me Humira at 18 after endless hoops. Insurers fight me yearly. Without subsidies, the next person won't even get that chance. Do better.

But here's what they can't commodify: solidarity. Every month I see people showing up for each other, volunteers bringing water to the tunnels, holiday solidarity keeping people fed. The system's working as designed, but we don't have to accept the design.

Shelter stopped being a human necessity. It became an investment vehicle.

Private equity doesn't house people they extract maximum returns and wait for appreciation.

The cruelty isn't a side effect. It's the business model

Clark County's homelessness rate is nearly 4x the national average. We're sitting on tens of thousands of empty properties and enough vacant land to house everyone twice over.

Right now 44,000 households are waiting for Section 8 assistance. Clark county has 12,000 vouchers total.
We open 7 new supportive housing slots per month. SEVEN. For 8,000 people who desperately them.
Developers have mapped 84,000 acres of vacant land ready for construction. The land exists.

We just hit a 10-year high for homelessness in the USA. Black residents are 12% of the population while being 42% of the people on the streets. Meanwhile, housing prices jumped 35% while wages grew at half that speed.

Tell me again how this system isn't working exactly the way it was designed to.

Will this have the energy to power through til next November or does it get swept under the rug somehow?

If it gets buried through some deal let's say involving Maxwell, would she accept it? Or would she hold out for a more favorable one?
