Interesting. I wonder if the FO or the Pitch Lab folks told him to just throw the hell out of the cutter and not worry about trying to spin it. Maybe they’re getting him ready to be a 6th/7th inning guy for the Cubs and just want to lean on 1-2 pitches…? 🤷🏻‍♂️

I don’t see it. His k rate at Arkansas was over 20%, and the Cubs *love* guys who control the zone. If they crave a college bat, this might be a spot for Ethan Conrad (if the Cubs’ medical staff signs off.) I don’t know if Aloy’s hit tool and defense will carry 180-200 strikeouts a year in The Show.

I guess I see them as AAAA-types who *might* be 5th starters for non-playoff clubs. Maybe a team like Pittsburgh would take one of them as a “sweetener” in a Mitch Keller deal and hope they can develop into something better with MLB experience…🤷🏻‍♂️

Great news! Does this make Noland and Sanders more valuable as trade chips since they’ll now be firmly behind Birdy and Wiggins and therefore less likely to ever break the Cubs’ rotation?

OK, Ollie—get back to me when Grandma’s Social Security check gets delayed or Uncle Earl’s Veterans benefits need to be untangled, and *then* tell me how losing Federal employees has “zero impact” on services. You can’t use AI for everything, despite what Elon’s fanboys would tell you…

1) Did Congress authorize these “buyouts?” If not, then tell me who did and under what authority.

2) Did Congress appropriate funds for this? If not, then from where is the $$$ coming?

3) Has *anyone* (CBO?) looked at the ramifications of possible losing this many people at once?

Sheer lunacy…
