If you go with humidifier and heated tube, yes. But then you need a big battery.
You turn off the humidifier and heated tube before you use a battery.

Place machine 20cm above floor. Make sure there is a slope from mask to machine to let condensate flow back.
Use heated tube and tube sleve. Have above 16degC on the room

That pillow you put over his face to stop him snorring, that de facto the same as a cpap mask...
He can even breath more easily with the cpap stuff....
