Precisely. We just witnessed Indiana's GOP refuse to accede to the White House's extreme gerrymander because, according to reports, they believed in state autonomy / refused to be controlled by the federal government. Federal pressure on a blue state to ignore its own laws seems even less likely.

"I'm soooo clever. See how I avoided saying 'white,' but everyone got the message anyway! Now they can't call me a racist, see?"

I seem to recall how well preaching sacrifice and austerity went over when Jimmy Carter espoused it. But, hey, Felon47 IS soooo special, so we'll see.

See . . . I think it's because he didn't do all that stuff that he was awarded the prize. "Just kidding" can get you all sorts of cool stuff if everyone else is willing to close their eyes, hold their nose, plug their ears, and switch off their moral sensibilities.

"See, this just PROVES my superiority over Sleepy Joe. He never fell asleep in a cabinet meeting! Unlike TRUMP! HA!"

Serious stuff. The rumor is they're going to put Lindsay Halligan on it straight away.

Unless it's a testament to just how bi-polar the other guy is.

Not one iota. The voters selected the maps. The legal challenge (that it is a racial gerrymander), won't fly, since its proponents (most prominently Newsom) repeatedly stated it was a political gerrymander aimed at countering Texas' maneuver. The Supreme Ct. has decreed political redistricts legit.

Grandpa said what?

The World Cup is a once in a lifetime opportunity for all of you born in the U.S. ... after 1994.

Oh, except there were two more World Cups (1999, 2003) on U.S. soil after that.

In 2026 that'll be 4 U.S.-based World Cups in my lifetime. But yeah Gramps, 'splain history to us.

White House press release: "Routine annual inspection. As everyone can see, he aced the test! He walked longer, farther and straighter than all his predecessors combined! Just wait until he reviews the troops in the locker rooms at the annual Army-Navy game! Coming soon!"

Coincidentally (or not), those who've had strokes receive MRIs. So, too, MRAs can detect stenosis (abnormal narrowing) of arteries or potential aneurysms.

So, lots of ways to play here, but none of them suggest a person in tip-top, ultra perfect, best ever in the history of the world health.

Nero had a fiddle; Felon47 swivels his hips. Both lost in themselves while the world around them burns.

Sure, he would have won it all by himself (just ask him), but he chose to take it easy.

As president, why is he depending on the media to get sit-reps? There are federal agencies in Portland he can call. There's a mayor and governor with direct access to information.

Is the most powerful person on earth dependent on Fox News to gather essential intel? How weak this makes him appear

He forgot to mention how "when you go to the ER you see that the illegal next to you is eating a cat or a dog."

X-Box Boy says wut? For career military this is cringe. It is also an obscene, demeaning caricaturization.

Also a way of saying: "got Nazi tattoos? Once belonged to KKK or the Patriot Front? We've got you covered . . . we'll scrub that inconvenient data point from your background check. So, racist-nationalist-supremacist . . . come on down!"

Spot on / good catch. Apparently, though, they missed one of the latent messages: that Patton symbolized militaristic values and behaviors that were increasingly derogated and antithetical to the era -- or to the nation, itself.

"I am addressing the staff of The Department of War . . . agitating for my receipt of the Nobel Peace Prize."

Only George (War is Peace) Orwell could make it make sense.

Branding 101 (which Dems are so bad at):

"Grandpa seemed lost."
"I think he forgot to take his meds."
"He didn't seem to recognize me."
"He was muttering to himself."
"He couldn't keep up with the conversation."
"He kept ranting about Joe Biden"
"I wonder how safe the country is now."

On blast.

Sure, Jan.

There would be no precent. The U.S. held elections during World War II, including both a presidential election and a midterm election.
