Enjoys: walking, nature, observing wildlife - urban badgers and foxes; butterflies, birds, wild flowers and fungi
The Snowdrop and Hellebore Trail at North Cerney House Garden in the Cotswolds today (near Cirencester). Three roe deer lept over the stone wall to have a look around. A little chilly but very lovely.

I am so pleased with book. An autobiography by Suze Rotolo who appeared on the cover of Freewheelin' by Bob Dylan. Written in 2008 (she sadly died in 2011 of lung cancer). Her influence on the young Bob Dylan becomes immediately apparent, her parents were Communists; Greenwich Village her home.

The sun came out in Bishopstone, near Swindon, Wiltshire this afternoon. The strip lynchet slopes called - very worth getting wet feet for.

Walking from Huish in deepest Wiltshire today. Hollow ways, deer leaping across our path, even a little stone circle - a feature in an amazing garden which has a right of way running through it.

St. Andrew's Church, Wanborough - one of only three churches in the UK with both a tower and spire. The other two being Purton, (also near Swindon) and Ormskirk, Lancashire.

I came across this beautiful painting by Sam Cannon on Threads - I seem to have a link to this online platform but no idea how it works. Am glad to share it here.

Hummingbird Hawk Moth on salvia.

Not quite the autumn equinox yet - it felt like it today though out at Avebury and Waden Hill. A warm wind and racing clouds. Days like these don't come around too often.

Today in Swindon town centre a small display about Stonehenge put on by English Heritage as part of Swindon Council's 'Summer on the Green' events for children. The 'green' in this case being artificial grass in Wharf Square.

Visited the Abbey in Malmesbury today and the memorial to King Athelstan. Interesting early English history.

Walked to Windmill Hill from Avebury today. Evidence of drought all around. Village pond and small rivers all bone dry.

One of the many lovely unspoilt places around the edges of Swindon. The town centre is constantly decried as many of the significant stores have either closed or moved out of town (and the demographic changed). The real Swindon is not in the centre - its at the edges and between the cracks.

Went to this excellent exhibition today at Wiltshire Museum in Devizes. No photos other than this one - its okay to be a commoner.
